
Mark Sawa joined Anderson Associates Consulting Engineers Inc. in 1997. His diverse technical and analytical skills and forensic experience adds depth and expertise to Anderson Associates' team.
Mark graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1992.
He continued his education and in 1996, obtained a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a specialty in Solid Mechanics by conducting research in the area of pneumatically inflated structures.
Prior to joining Anderson Associates in 1997, Sawa worked for a consulting engineering firm in Calgary, providing technical services and forensic engineering to the insurance and legal industries. He concentrated his efforts on reconstructing motor vehicle collisions.
At Anderson Associates, Mark has continued to provide forensic engineering services in the areas of motor vehicle accident reconstructions including low and high speed vehicles, pedestrians and bicycles, as well as determining seatbelt effectiveness, visibility issues, and pre and post-impact vehicle speeds and movements. He has also expanded his expertise to include structural and finite element analysis and mechanical design projects.
Mark has testified in the Provincial Court of Alberta as well as the Court of Queens Bench of Alberta on numerous occasions in the area of motor vehicle accident reconstruction.
