
Sherwin Tabler was an independent design consultant providing technical advice and design analysis to industry before joining Anderson Associates in l990. Currently providing expertise in the areas of stress analysis, welding, code compliance and certification, Sherwin has significantly enhanced Anderson Associates's ability to perform multi-disciplinary projects.
Sherwin graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta in 1975 and had been working on a project work related to the completed courses in his Masters Degree of Welding Engineering at the University of Alberta in 1990/1991.
From 1975 to 1987, Sherwin specialized as a Design Engineer with Dreco Limited, designing drilling rigs and related equipment. Diversifying into welding and quality control, he spearheaded the company's certification under the Canadian Welding Bureau. As Engineering Supervisor, he coordinated and provided project management within their Industrial Division and was responsible for quality assurance in subsequent international work.
Since joining Anderson Associates, Sherwin has worked extensively on design and strength analysis on various structures and pressure components as well as oilfield equipment. Structural work he has been involved with also includes wood design and related failures. Complimenting this, he has performed finite element analysis of manufacturers' designs as well as investigations on failed mechanical and structural assemblies.
Sherwin's expertise has enabled him to testify as an expert witness on insurance related investigations.
